Club News
Charley Vogt is taking his role as chief publicist of the April 22 Golf Tournament to heart. He wore a sandwich board with the poster to the district assembly on March 23. Pictured with Charley are Doug Hood (left) and Ivar Olsen, the president elect for the 2024/25 year who was honored at the assembly.
Seriously, the golf tournament will be a fun event with all the usual activities including silent auction and a hole in one contest. There's still room for more golfers.
Community Services Committee (led by Wendy Irving and Bill Doughty) did it again. Another outstanding Early Childhood Development classroom painting project that took all of two days and three shifts this weekend. The kids will be very happy with the results.
Rotary Club of Ignacio passed out more than 60 new picture hard-back dictionaries to three classes of 3rd graders at Loma Verde Elementary School. This is part of a 20 year project the Rotary Club of Ignacio along with the other two Rotary Clubs in the city to distribute dictionaries to all 3rd graders in both private and public schools in Novato. Our Club distributes to Novato Charter School and Hamilton Elementary in addition to Loma Verde Elementary School.
Today we welcomed new member, Lisa Byram of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, to the club. Lisa has an extensive CV of much charitable work in the Novato area. She was joined by her daughter, Kathryn. Pictured from left to right, Andrei Jigalin, Club President, Daryl Weinroth, Lisa Byram, Kathryn Dyram and Charley Vogt, Membership Chair. We are very happy to have her join us and know she will made a significant addition to the club.
Past President, Chuck Swensen, shared excerpts from his new novel "Miss Austen's Mistake" in which he re-imagines parts of the Jane Austin book "Sense and Sensibility". Writing from the point of view of a man who believes he served as the inspiration for Colonel Brandon allowed for the addition of some scenes and unexpected alterations to the story.
